"Our company offers a subscription delivery box service with a unique guarantee: a new box delivered every ten seconds! How can we accomplish such a feat, you ask? ...That's a trade secret."

Construct the ideal delivery route to reach all houses in under ten seconds by weaving backwards and forwards in time. If you play your cards right, you'll be able to make it back in time to pick up the next shipment ten seconds later.

Placed 10th overall (4th for innovation!) in Ludum Dare 51 (theme: "Every ten seconds.")

I had this absolutely gonzo idea for a puzzle game with this theme (inspired by the one-electron universe) and just went forward and implemented it. It is a little bit mind-bending, in hopefully a good way! But maybe also in a 'completely incomprehensible' way. Well, I had fun making it, at least ;)

Inspired by the mobile puzzle game "RGB Express".

Most of the puzzles have many possible solutions, but that doesn't mean the solutions are easy to find!

There are 15 levels in total, which is more than any sane person should want. Your progress is saved automatically, so you can leave and come back later!

Controls:

  • Arrow keys to move.
  • Spacebar to reverse the direction of the flow of time.
  • Period key (.) to wait for one second without moving. (Can't be used while on a one-way street.)
  • Z to undo
  • R to reset
  • SHIFT + X to delete your save data.

Tools used:

  • Graphics: Aseprite
  • Music: PXTone (title screen music), FL Studio + Timbres of Heaven (in-game music) + Audacity (for reverse audio)
  • SFX: PXTone + Audacity (for reverse audio)
  • Code: vanilla JS + html5 canvas. Base code based on The Great Flood (which was in turn based on chthonic brilliance, which was in turn based on...)
  • Levels created with Tiled and compiled into a simpler format using the ulvl Python library.

I’m already stumped on seven

How does the company restock the trucks in 0 seconds lol

That’s a little thing called “operational efficiency,” buddy!

after i draw the possible time on paint.exe, the level 13 seems impossible, and then i see there are stupid period key to wait on the control lol

Its like TENET

True! I still haven’t seen that movie…

Its great and really mind bending. By the way, The game was great!

thank you, I’m glad you enjoyed it! I’ll have to check out Tenet.

One of those puzzles where in most of the levels I've found a solution, but feel like there should be the solution. Because most of my routes sure are a solution...

good but hard

pleaaaase add more levels, this was so fun!

My mind is blown

🤯

Yeah, quantum physics is like that sometimes. Antimatter precisely can be described like a normal matter travelling backwards through time, and annihilating on contact. And antimatter is absolutely real and measurable object, like you and me

Heheheheh
I've found you

(playing this now)

What a clever little puzzle game!

thanks for playing!

On level 3, what does it mean to "flow" time?

Sorry, the help text isn’t super clear because I didn’t have very much space in the game (and also it’s hard to explain, lol).

Basically, if you press space, time starts moving backwards instead of forwards, so when you move around, the timer decreases rather than increasing, and you move from the future to the past, seeing your past self trace out your previous path in reverse (since that’s where you were at that point in the past.)

You can then press space again to make time flow forwards again, which does the same thing but opposite - you’ll see the version of you from when time was flowing backwards, doing everything you just did but in reverse. (as well as your original forward-time past self, who is now moving forward again.)

It’s a little hard to explain in words, but I hope this helps at least a little bit.

It actually DOES help through.

Also I forgot to tell you, fun truck delivery puzzle game. :)
